Arielle Bernstein, PsyD (she, her)

Clinical Psychologist

A young woman with long dark hair and a small nose piercing, smiling outdoors in front of a blurred stone wall and greenery, wearing a light gray shirt and a necklace.

Arielle Bernstein, PsyD earned her Doctorate from Kean University. She worked and trained across a range of settings, including outpatient therapy at the Capital Institute for Cognitive Therapy and the Arlington/DC Behavior Therapy Institute, an internship at St. Elizabeths Hospital working with people with more severe psychiatric diagnoses, and forensic psychological work with New York City courts. Dr. Bernstein specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy — evidence-based approaches that use mindfulness and self-compassion to help people move through difficult emotions and build lives that feel more meaningful and connected. She enjoys working with people who are navigating anxiety, depression, anger, life transitions, or a persistent sense of feeling unfulfilled — especially when these experiences are creating recurring friction in their relationships. She has a special interest in working with individuals whose difficult early attachment or caregiver experiences continue to shape how they show up in their adult relationships, and brings both clinical depth and genuine warmth to that work. Dr. Bernstein also has experience supporting people with milder outpatient presentations of substance use concerns and psychotic disorders. She is LGBTQ+ and kink-affirming and welcomes individuals in non-traditional relationship structures, including polyamorous and consensually non-monogamous relationships. She is a licensed psychologist in Washington, DC, sees clients via Telehealth only, and is available to clients across all of the 40+ PSYPACT states.
